Referral Policy
Last updated: 15 May 2026
Overview
OTCdomain operates a business development and web services company offering premium domains and digital services. Our referral programme rewards account holders and approved partners for introducing new customers to the platform. This policy sets out how the programme works, what you can earn, and the rules you must follow. By participating, you agree to be bound by these terms.
Eligibility
Any individual or business with a registered and active OTCdomain account may apply to participate in the referral programme. You must ensure your account details are accurate and up to date. Partner applications — including those seeking individually negotiated commission rates — are subject to separate approval criteria detailed on the Partners page. OTCdomain reserves the right to decline or revoke programme access at its sole discretion.
How It Works
Once enrolled, you will receive a unique referral link tied to your account. Share this link through any permitted channel. When a new customer clicks your link and completes a qualifying purchase within the 30-day cookie window, a commission is attributed to your account. The cookie is set on first click; if a visitor already has an active referral cookie from another referrer, the original cookie takes precedence unless it has expired.
Qualifying purchases include domain sales (buy-now and accepted offers), lease payments, service purchases, and bundle purchases as listed below. Commissions are calculated on the USD transaction value exclusive of any taxes or platform fees charged to the buyer.
Commission Rates
Commissions are calculated as a percentage of the qualifying sale amount in USD. Standard rates are as follows:
| Transaction Type | Standard Commission Rate |
|---|---|
| Domain sale (buy-now) | 5% |
| Accepted offer / negotiation | 5% |
| Lease payment (per payment received) | 3% |
| Service purchase | 5% |
| Bundle purchase | 5% |
Approved partners may be granted an individually negotiated rate set at the time of their partner approval. Your applicable rate is always visible in your account dashboard. OTCdomain reserves the right to adjust standard commission rates with reasonable prior notice. Rate changes do not apply retroactively to commissions already attributed.
For lease transactions, a commission is earned on each individual payment as it is received and cleared, not on the total contract value. If a lease lapses or the buyer defaults, no further commissions are payable for that transaction.
Cookie Duration
Your referral cookie remains active for 30 days from the date of the visitor's first click on your referral link. Any qualifying purchase completed within this window will be attributed to you. Purchases made after the cookie has expired will not generate a commission, even if the customer originally arrived via your link.
Hold Period
All attributed commissions enter a holding period of 28 days from the date the qualifying transaction is completed. This window allows time for refunds, payment reversals, chargebacks, and fraud reviews to be resolved. During the hold period, commissions are shown as "pending" in your dashboard and are not available for payout.
If the underlying transaction is reversed, refunded, or determined to be fraudulent during the hold period, the associated commission will be cancelled in full. OTCdomain will not be liable for commissions cancelled due to buyer refunds or platform-initiated reversals.
Payouts
Once your cleared (post-hold) commission balance reaches the minimum threshold of USD $50, you may submit a payout request through your account dashboard. Payouts are processed within 5 business days of approval. You are responsible for providing accurate payment details; OTCdomain cannot be held liable for funds sent to an incorrectly specified account.
OTCdomain reserves the right to withhold or delay payment where a fraud review is ongoing, where your account is under investigation for policy violations, or where we are required to do so by applicable law. Any withheld amounts will be released or forfeited upon conclusion of the relevant review.
Payouts are made in USD. Currency conversion fees, bank charges, or transaction fees imposed by your payment provider are your responsibility. OTCdomain does not currently charge a fee for processing referral payouts, though this may be subject to change with notice.
Referral Attribution & Tracking
Commissions are attributed solely through your unique referral link. We cannot attribute purchases made by customers who did not use your link, who cleared their cookies before purchasing, or who used a different device after clicking your link unless cross-device tracking is supported and active. It is your responsibility to share your referral link correctly. OTCdomain's tracking records are conclusive in any dispute regarding attribution.
Prohibited Conduct
To maintain the integrity of the programme, the following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Self-referrals: You may not use your own referral link — or any link associated with an account you control — to make purchases on OTCdomain, directly or indirectly.
- Paid search brand bidding: You may not run paid search advertisements (e.g. Google Ads, Bing Ads) that display our brand name, domain, or variations thereof as a keyword or in ad copy.
- Spam and unsolicited messaging: You may not distribute your referral link via unsolicited email, SMS, social messaging, or any channel that violates applicable anti-spam laws (including but not limited to GDPR, CAN-SPAM, and CASL).
- Misleading representations: You may not make false, misleading, or exaggerated claims about OTCdomain's products, services, pricing, or guarantees.
- Incentivising referrals with side payments: You may not offer cash-back, discounts, cryptocurrency, or any other tangible benefit to referred customers as an inducement to purchase through your link.
- Coupon and deal sites: Posting your referral link on coupon, rebate, or deal aggregator websites is prohibited unless you have obtained prior written approval from OTCdomain.
- Cookie stuffing or manipulation: Any technical manipulation of cookies, forced redirects, or artificial inflation of referral clicks is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination and forfeiture of all commissions.
- Impersonation: You may not impersonate OTCdomain, its staff, or create websites or social media accounts that could be mistaken for official OTCdomain properties.
Breach of any prohibited conduct rule may result in immediate termination of your participation, cancellation of all pending and cleared commissions, and referral of the matter to relevant authorities where applicable.
Taxes & Compliance
You are solely responsible for declaring and paying any taxes arising from commissions earned through the referral programme in your applicable jurisdiction. OTCdomain does not withhold tax on referral payments unless required to do so by law. You may be asked to provide tax identification or residency information before payouts are processed. It is your responsibility to ensure your participation in the referral programme complies with all laws and regulations applicable to you.
Termination
OTCdomain may suspend or permanently terminate your participation in the referral programme at any time without prior notice if we suspect fraud, a policy violation, or abuse of the programme. We may also terminate the programme in its entirety with reasonable prior notice to all participants.
Commissions earned in good faith prior to termination will be honoured subject to the standard 28-day hold period, provided the underlying transactions are not subsequently reversed or determined to be fraudulent. Commissions attributed to prohibited conduct will be forfeited regardless of hold period status.
You may withdraw from the programme at any time by contacting us. Any cleared balance at the time of withdrawal that meets the minimum payout threshold will be paid out in accordance with the standard payout process.
Limitation of Liability
OTCdomain's liability in connection with the referral programme is limited to the payment of commissions properly earned and cleared in accordance with this policy. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or speculative losses arising from your participation, including loss of anticipated commissions from transactions that did not complete.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to the programme, our business, or applicable law. When material changes are made, we will post the revised policy on this page with an updated effective date and, where reasonably practicable, notify active participants by email. Continued participation in the referral programme after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to the revised terms, you should discontinue participation and contact us to withdraw.
